“I first started having coaching sessions with Caroline when I was creatively stuck at the end of the pandemic. Actually, I was more than stuck -I was blocked and frozen. Caroline’s deep listening and reflecting-back and knack of asking just the right question at the right moment was crucial in me unsticking and beginning to plan and work on writing projects again. I was able to re-access some of my deepest creativity.

This also helped me realise that Caroline’s coaching skills were helping my neurodivergent self plan and strategise and do some of the bigger picture thinking I can struggle with when caught up in the minutiae of life. Our monthly sessions are now a crucial part of my support in living as a self-employed neurodivergent writer and performer in these strange, fractured times. She helps me return to the “whole”. “

We commissioned Caroline Pearce, a coach who is skilled in holding the space for others to reflect and develop ideas, through considered and experienced coaching techniques. Caroline was commissioned to support professional participants to develop their creative initiatives.

Feedback from the participants has been outstanding. The coaching has provided vital space for them to reflect on their businesses and develop their practice. They stated that the coaching with Caroline helped them to clarify ideas and take action.

The coaching has helped us create conditions that support us to achieve our strategic aims in clear and simple ways.

We are delighted to work with Caroline and her coaching expertise is adding great value to our overall aims and ambitions. Thank you, such a great framework for reflection which enables necessary learning and growth.”

Jade is an actor, she found me when I was producing pop up theatre in our home town. She is passionate about her career in arts. She’s passionate about a lot of things. She has had Type 1 diabetes since she was 4 and during the time I’ve known her she has adopted siblings with complex needs. She tries to power through for everyone around her, she’s proven time and again she can get things done but faced constant frustration that her impact felt tiny compared to the work she put in, and compared to others, society didn’t seem to be noticing or really getting the benefit.

With my support she found her thing. It’s obvious looking back, but it was so well submerged before, she made a theatre play about growing up with Type 1 Diabetes. She performed it, toured all round the UK, streamed it internationally, got recruited as a advocate for JDRF charity & flies around the world speaking at medical conferences, helping doctors understand the impact of the condition and that of the advances in treatment. This led to her writing a story book for children and next I believe she is making that story into a play for families. She found her thing and now the whole world is taking notice; she’s helping hundreds and thousands of people understand they’re not alone.

I worked with Joe in a coaching capacity to help them achieve some funding for a creative project, after the work they said:

“Not only did you provide stellar access support and great application-writing advice, but I felt unjudged and comfortable in your presence. The tangible outcome was of course receiving DYCP funding (thank you so much!), but also a sense of understanding and relaxation that's hard to find as a neurodivergent/disabled creative. Because of your support, I've been able to enter the Access Support space and begin offering bespoke support for neurodivergent and disabled individuals too. Your support has been invaluable, and has quite literally changed the course of my career!

“Caroline is a master of asking you the right questions. When we first talked about my business I was stuck with no sense of direction and too vague of an idea on what message am I trying to convey and who am I speaking to on my social media platforms.

Chatting to Caroline always gives me some clarity. It helps me refocus on what is important, but it happens in such an organic way, talking through things with Caroline asking questions that force me to dig deeper. She’s not afraid of confronting the ideas and shows a different way of approaching things which is invaluable to me - it allows me to get out of my own head and think outside of my usual patterns.

Caroline, I really appreciate every conversation we have and all your advice. Each time we meet I get new energy to go out there and conquer the world! :)”

we asked some clients who were new to coaching when we started, how they felt afterwards, here’s what they replied…

benefits you experienced as a result of this career coaching…

At the time the reflective practice was very useful for me, hearing someone repeat statements back to me helped me to hear them and make better sense of what i was saying versus what i actually felt. It was calming and that also created space for me to understand what i needed to do next.

“The time was focused and we covered a lot of ground in a short space of time. Nothing that came up was new to me, but hearing it repeated back to me meant it landed in a different way. I've been left feeling more conviction in what I want. It was really useful to hear that rejections hurt, even if you're rejected from something you knew you weren't quite right for, so you may as well go for what you really want!”

More focus, short-term actions to start a process of change, more ideas about how best to move forward with my plans.”

The "epiphany" moment when I realised that the person I was trying to be was me!!! Thank you so much again for the sessions/support, it's been lovely to meet you!”

Gave me a mental push to do things I’d been putting off, confronted a few things about my own mindset”

Confidence that I do have valuable things to offer. Understanding what I do that really helps others”

Got more ambitious. Improved my applications”

I felt a bit more confident. I learned a bit about myself. I feel I understand my situation more.”

I am more focused. I have identified steps I can easily take in my everyday life”

“It was like a lightbulb moment. I realised that I knew what I needed to do but wasn't actually doing it. By making the changes my life will have more structure now. It feels like a weight has been lifted.

“It distilled and focused my ideas. I put thoughts into action. There have been a few things that were through my head and worrying me, that I was thinking I'd get around to but would have taken a lot longer. These are now in place and I feel like I have some good momentum.

how did you feel at the end of the work together?

Emotional, but felt reassured that I am wrestling with a life change that has no easy solution, which isn’t a failure of imagination on my part.”

Positive, and with an idea about how I can effect change.”

Confident and focused.”

Like I still have a lot of work to do… though to be fair, I guess that process of learning never ends

I don’t want it to end, working with her has been so beneficial and I will do all I can to work with her more.”

Positive and clearer.

Exhausted and also positive.”

Better. Uplifted.”

now you’ve tried it, what would you like to use it for in future?

How to apply this way of thinking to my life and not just business! Also to keep paying attention to having the space to think clearly and realise how to get to where I want to be with my business. .”

“Perhaps digging a little deeper into why I struggle with the lack of self belief/not allowing myself to celebrate my "wins" and help with overcoming the "imposter syndrome"!
